SkyPro to start cooperation in the Ostrava region

22.12.2009

SkyPro Oulu has started cooperation in the field of air protection in the Ostrava region in the Czech Republic.

Major opening in international cooperation

The Ostrava region is a traditional industrial area in Central Europe. On one hand, pollution poses significant challenges but on the other, it creates new business and cooperation opportunities for air protection companies.

SkyPro Oulu considers the Ostrava region one of the key areas for air-related research and development in Europe and has therefore established close relationships with operators in the area. SkyPro Oulu's strategic partner in the Ostrava region is ARR (Regional Development Agency Ostrava). Invited by regional development manager Pavla Bruskova, SkyPro Oulu representatives visited Ostrava from 18 to 20 November, 2009.

During the visit, negotiation participants included Ostrava region development organisations, the University of Ostrava and cleantech companies and representatives from the local cleantech cluster. The universities are currently comparing the Ostrava and Oulu air protection research to find suitable areas for future cooperation.

"As regards companies, ARR’s cluster ventures are a logical contact point for the SkyPro companies in the future", CEO Ari Alatossava from Micropolis Ii Ltd and Program Coordinator Jukka Teräs from SkyPro Oulu point out.

A delegation organised by ARR will visit the Oulu region during the spring of 2010.
