SkyPro Oulu joins the Oulu innovation cluster network

SkyPro Oulu is launched in the Science into Products and Production Technologies 2008 – 2011 project, which is jointly managed by the Department of Process and Environmental Engineering at the University of Oulu and Micropolis Ii ltd. The leader of the project is Professor Riitta Keiski.

The drive to foster growth in air-related business in the Oulu Region is Cleantech Oulu venture, where the internationally known information and communication technology expertise at Oulu will be supplemented by a centre of excellence in environmental technology. SkyPro Oulu works in close liaison with it.

In addition SkyPro Oulu is part of the innovation centre network of the University of Oulu and creates an environmental innovation cluster together with Cewic, the Centre of Expertise in Water Industry Cluster.

The innovation centres of the university create added value for each individual centre by increasing the recognition of the innovation clusters both nationally and internationally.

“Air-related research has been conducted for a long time at the University of Oulu. The Oulu Region is already internationally known for its level of expertise especially in environmental catalysis”, says professor Riitta Keiski, Department of Process and Environmental Engineering, University of Oulu.
